‘Unwanted’, a film by Edon Rizvanolli, will officially open this year’s edition of PriFest on July 13th. The film will compete in main film program of PriFest – the ‘Honey and Blood’ program.
‘Unwanted’, a co-production between Kosovo and the Netherlands, comes to PriFest as an International Premiere, after screening its World Premiere at ‘Karlovy Vary Film Festival’, where it was screened a few days ago as the opening film of the ‘East of the West’ competing program.
“We are very happy and proud to screen a Kosovar film to the Kosovo audience, especially a film that has just been screened as a World Premiere at the ‘Karlovy Vary Film Festival’. We liked the film and we made a deal with the director to screen the film in Kosovo right after its World Premiere. This makes us happy because we are offering a special experience to the Kosovo audience. The film cast will be present at the festival for the film screening.
Furthermore, the film will be screened in two different places simultaneously: at the National Theatre (Main Hall) and at the Open Air Cinema at the ‘Zahir Pajaziti’ square. We will thank our sponsors, partners, and artists by inviting them to our opening night ceremony, however, everyone is welcome to come and enjoy the film for FREE. The space is quite big and can host a large crowd. Last year there were more than 1,500 people in attendance, and I am sure that it will be a great night once again. knowing that the cinema will speak ‘ALBANIAN’ that night.” – said Vjosa Berisha, PriFest’s director. ‘Unwanted’ is a shocking drama that revolves around a family of refugees from Kosovo that have lived in the Netherlands and face a story of love which re-opens old wounds from the recent war in Kosovo.
